... but break down halfway there! Oops!
Carlos, a very friendly tow-truck driver befriended us and took us to his nearby home in Sax, 20 kms before Alicante. Here we admired the stunning castle on the hill and met his lovely wife, Mari Carmen. Realising that there was nothing to be done until Monday morning, we got a room in the local hotel (courtesy of our insurance company) and relaxed into the flow of things... which included the local 'fiestas' weekend!
Carlos and Mari Carmen help us relax and get in the mood for a festive weekend...
...but will we manage to leave this little village to continue our adventure?
